Tennis, as a world-class ball sport, naturally spreads in a very wide range. Correspondingly, extremely complicated game rules have been produced. Only in this way can it be ensured that a convincing conclusion can be reached under the witness of countless spectators. When newcomers are just getting in touch with tennis, they are often at a loss when faced with long-formed rules. In fact, many rules are irrelevant, and only some of them are the core rules.
First, the basic rules of the game. Tennis matches are divided into two forms of singles and doubles. At the same time, it is divided into men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Generally speaking, the mixed doubles game is relatively rare, and it is difficult to see this game even on the field, and it is basically invisible on the field. However, ordinary tennis doubles are not very common in life. Regardless of the format of the game, both sides need to hit the ball on the opponent’s court as much as possible and let the other party not receive the ball before it is considered a victory, or if the opponent returns the ball out of bounds, it is considered a win.
Second, guess the ball before serving. Before a tennis match begins, it is necessary to determine who will serve the ball in a certain way. Nowadays, the commonly used method is to guess the coin. That is, before the match begins, the referee will discard a coin and let both players guess whether the coin is heads or On the other hand, the one who guesses correctly can choose his own court or his own right to serve, while the one who doesn’t guess must choose the option that the opponent gave up. For example, if the party who guesses right chooses the right to serve, then the one who doesn’t guess can choose the court, and vice versa. In this process of guessing the coin, both parties cannot guess the same side. The person who guesses correctly cannot choose two priorities, and can only choose one of the two, either the right to serve or the right to the court.
Third, the basic rules of serve. After guessing the coin to determine which side serves the ball first, the players of both sides will take turns serving the ball in this game. One side cannot continue to serve while the other side continues to receive the serve. When serving, the server should stand behind the end line, in the area between the midpoint and the extension of the sideline. (The sideline does not have an extension line, and the player needs to estimate it by himself.) The server should start from behind the end line of the right area and hit the ball into the opponent’s service area. If a score or loss occurs during this period, it should switch to the left zone to serve, and so on.
Fourth, misjudgment. If the serve falls outside the opponent’s serving area, such as when the serve hits the line or the ball touches the net in flight, then it will be judged as a service error and the server needs to serve again. However, if the serving side makes two consecutive serve errors, then the serving side loses a point, that is, the opponent scores once.
